so I haven't posted here in a long, long while, the reason to that is that I have been busy with studies and other writing projects, so this has been put on hold till autumn, I know, it's a bummer, but that's the way it is :)

at last!

So after struggling with writer's block I finally got the basic plot of the first episode down, so that means I am going to start writing soon!!!! like really writing, I hope to write a little bit everyday and hopefully have the rough draft finished in about two weeks. There is a bit of a fix, cause I have to edit another story and I have a deadline, till the end of Feburary, so I'll start writing episode I in the beginning of March and hopefully by the middle it will be ready for the public to read :D

neglecting the series.....

So I haven't been here in a while, and that's cause I've been completely caught away in the Industrial Revolution I've been negleting me series. It's all thanks to North and South really, after watching the series and reading the novel it's made me completely forget about everything else. Not anymore though, I'm am picking up the torch once again. I've even started the second chapter, even though I'm still a bit in the blue about what exactly is going to happen, but I am proud to say that an idea is starting to take shape and soon (I hope) the entire plot will formulate in my head and everything will begin to make sense.
I probably should read a bit of Sci-Fi to help me out a bit, I feel that all the His-Fi I read isn't really doing much good. :P

not really getting anywhere

So since I spent most of the day out today, I didn't really get much work as far as planning or writing done. I did make up a couple of new scenes for later episodes, so at least that is something. I'm still pretty stuck on how things are going to work out in the first episode and well, to tell you the truth, things are pretty much a mess right now. Though so far I have managed to get a couple of things right, which is a little comforting. I think I just need to focus on this series, which is a bit of a challenge for me cause I have over 50 stories, series and ideas for stories, floating around in my brain and it's not easy to push them all aside and put all my attention on only one of them. But I feel I'll have to do that if I am to get anywhere with the Space War

the beginning steps are never easy

Being a newbie in the sci-fi world, sometimes it's a little hard for me in writing and planning. Since, in general, I am more of a historical person, who loves the medival style, this is a whole new things for me. Still, as I get deeper and deeper into the series, I feel my imagination coming more and more to life. The battleship 'Morning Star' is perhaps one of my greatest challenges. I have looked at several pictures of sci-fi space ships, as well as real rockets and trying to make a mix of everything to come up with something that I am actually going to like is a bit tricky. I don't want it coming out, looking like something really random, a battleship for outer space needs to be sleek and swift, and yet still look like a spaceship. So that's something that I am still in the process of working on. Also, I need to comeplete making up the galaxy, where I plan to have everything happen. So far I have called it the 'Edge Galaxy' (meaning it is somewhere on the edge of the universe (if the universe even has an edge), very, very far from where we live). I still have to make the solar systems and the different planets. As a person I'm not a fan of the 'yucky aliens' that seem to be so popular these days. I make most of the characters look similar to humans, or at any rate, try to keep 'look nice' instead of 'look weird'. The main characters have all been created and I can introduce them to you sometime soon. I have certain side characters made up as well, as well as certain events and places. It is far from finished though, there is soooooo much to prepare. I have started on the first chapter of the first episode, but it's not coming along so smoothly, maybe it's because I'm still so very unsure how things are going to turn out. Also the characters are new and I'm not all the well aquanted with them, so at times I find it hard to work with them, it's a matter of getting used to each other, which in turn is a matter of time

So since the blog is new I suppose I should have some sort of explanatory, introductory post
The Space War--Adventures of the Morning Star is a sci-fi series that I am beginning to write. The idea came to me sometime in the beginning summer of 2011. It started out with an image of a girl really, a girl dressed in a white shirt, dark blue vest, leather pants and high leather boots. Once I had that image I knew I had to do something with it and that is how the series came. Originally the series was going to be something medival/fantasy, but then since I already had a series and two novellas, plus another short story all written (or partially written) in that fashion I decided it was time to do something different. So I opted of Sci-Fi, generally I'm not really a fan of that sort of genre, but always love to try my hand at something new. I began planning and even writing bits and pieces, but had to put it aside, due to CampNaNo, then NaNo, then studies and exams and just life. Now I am ready to try and start it once again. I have my main characters, the crew of the battleship 'Morning Star' and have even planned some of their adventures. I'm not sure how long the series will last, nor how many episodes there will be. I was never really good at planning. I am hoping to make drawings of the characters and scenes as well, if not myself (since drawing people is definatly not one of my strong points) then I do have a few artist friends who will be willing to help me. I don't know what I shall do with the series once I am done writing it, but then that's jumping a little ahead of myself. I'm still not sure of a lot of things, the first episode is a complete disaster, I have no idea what I will do with it, but I am willing to take this one step at a time, and I hope that the finished product will be something that I am proud of
